Generic Nolvadex ® - Tamoxifen 20mg - 300 tabs
Tamoxifen (generic Nolvadex ®) is an anti-estrogen used to treat or prevent breast cancer.
Tamoxifen is also sometimes used to treat the condition Gynecomastia which is the development of breast tissue seen in men.
WARNING: Tamoxifen rarely may cause serious (possibly fatal) side effects. These include cancer of the uterus (endometrial cancer and uterine sarcoma), as well as strokes and blood clots in the lung (pulmonary emboli). Tell your doctor immediately if you develop: abnormal vaginal bleeding, irregular or abnormal menstrual periods, groin pain or pressure, chest pain, trouble breathing, one-sided weakness. If you are taking this medicine for prevention of breast cancer (those with ductal carcinoma in situ-DCIS, or those at high risk for breast cancer) you should discuss with your doctor the risks of treatment as compared to the benefits. However, if you are taking tamoxifen for treatment of breast cancer, the proven benefits clearly are greater than the risk of side effects. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE if you are also taking letrozole. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking fluorouracil, mitomycin or rifampin. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about taking this medicine.

How can this medicine affect other medicines?
You should tell your doctor or pharmacist what medicines you are using, particularly those listed below, before you start treatment with this medicine. This includes those bought without a prescription and herbal medicines. Likewise, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting any new medicines while you are taking this medicine, so they can check that the combination is safe.
Medicines that contain oestrogens, for example oral contraceptives or HRT, should not be used in combination with this medicine, as they will oppose its action.
There may be an increased risk of abnormal blood clots in the veins (thromboembolism) if tamoxifen is used in combination with cytotoxic chemotherapy medicines. Your doctor may prescribe you a medicine to prevent blood clots if you are having chemotherapy with tamoxifen.
Tamoxifen decreases the removal of the anticoagulant medicines nicoumalone and warfarin from the body and hence increases their anti-blood-clotting effect. Women taking anticoagulants in combination with tamoxifen should have their blood-clotting times regularly monitored, and your doctor may need to reduce the dose of your anticoagulant.
